1. Controller
The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Shadrach Appiagyei, Wanted.Berlin
Westfalenring 8C, 12207 Berlin, Germany
Email: hello@wanted.berlin
No data protection officer has been appointed, as there is no legal obligation to do so.
2. General information
I process personal data only where this is necessary to provide this website, to answer your enquiries and to deliver the services you request, or where you have given consent. The legal bases are in particular:
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent);
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract or pre-contractual steps);
- Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation);
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests);
- Section 25 TDDDG for storing and accessing information on your device (for example cookies).
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS.
When you visit the website, the server automatically records information in log files: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This serves to deliver the website, for security and for troubleshooting (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after 7 days.
4. Contact (form, email)
If you use the contact form or email me, I process your name, email address, company (optional), your message and the language of the page in order to answer your enquiry. The message is sent to me by email and also stored in a backup file on the server. My mailboxes run on Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland).
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (answering enquiries). The data is deleted 12 months after our last contact, unless statutory retention obligations apply or an engagement results from it (section 5).
5. Proposals, engagements and business relationship
For proposals and engagements (contact via shadrach.appiagyei@wanted.berlin) I process contact, contract, project and billing data. Project content, notes and client knowledge bases are kept in Notion (Notion Labs, Inc., 2300 Harrison Street, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA). The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR. Statutory tax and commercial retention periods (currently up to ten years) remain unaffected.
6. Diagnostic and waste calculator
If you use the diagnostic or the waste calculator and request a report, I process your answers, the calculated result, your name, email address, company (optional) and language. The details are stored on my server and you receive your report by email. I also give the enquiry a simple internal score to prioritise replies. No automated decision with legal effect on you takes place. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your request for the report and your consent when submitting) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for the internal score. The data is deleted after 24 months, or earlier if you withdraw consent.
7. Cookies and local storage
Technically necessary information is stored without your consent (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). All other cookies and identifiers are only set after you consent (Section 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| wb_consent (local storage) | Stores your choice in the cookie notice | until you change it or clear your browser storage | Necessary |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics (section 8) | up to 2 years | Consent |
On your first visit, a notice asks for your consent. "Accept" and "Decline" carry equal weight; without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, with effect for the future, using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
8. Google Analytics 4
With your consent, I use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-453V6YJDSQ) provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to analyse how the website is used: page views, time on page, source, device, and clicks on contact buttons and submissions of the contact form (without their content). Cookies are set and data, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google; Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. A transfer to the USA is possible. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; standard contractual clauses apply in addition.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Usage data is deleted after 14 months. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
9. Fonts, media and external links
The Poppins font, images and videos are served from my own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or video platforms. Links to external sites are plain links; data is only transmitted when you click them. I have no influence on the privacy practices of linked sites.
10. Recipients and processors
Where necessary, your data is received by:
- IONOS SE (hosting, section 3);
- Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (email, section 4);
- Notion Labs, Inc. (project and client documentation, section 5);
- Google Ireland Limited (web analytics, section 8, only with consent).
Data processing agreements under Art. 28 GDPR are in place with these providers. Data is not passed to any other third parties unless I am legally obliged to do so.
11. Transfers to third countries
Where data is transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA (in particular to the USA by Google, Microsoft or Notion), this is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient is certified, and additionally on standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
12. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16) and erasure (Art. 17);
- restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20);
- withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3));
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77).
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where I process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. Please write to hello@wanted.berlin.
Competent supervisory authority: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany, datenschutz-berlin.de.
13. Data security
The website is delivered over an encrypted connection (TLS/HTTPS). I take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
14. Changes to this policy
I update this privacy policy when website features or the legal situation change. The version published here applies.
